We spent one week in Singapore on our way from Bangkok to Bali. And what a busy and great week it was! There is just so much to see and do in this city.

Singapore is a very modern, urban and “western” city. You hardly feel that you are in Asia, but at the same time Singapore is a true melting pot of the whole of Asia. Here you can find culture and food from both China, India, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. It is a city that has “everything”; fabulous shopping, beaches close by, top notch restaurants, legendary hotels and an endless number of cafes and bars.

guide to Singapore Zoo and Night Safari

The great thing about visiting a place for the second time is getting to do all the stuff you missed the first time around. The last time we visited Singapore we went with some friends with small kids to the Singapore Night Safari. It was a great experience, but it was in the evening (the night safari is open from 7:30 pm. to midnight), so it was dark and not so easy to see the animals, and even harder to take good pictures! So, being an animal-lover of dimension, I have always wanted to visit the Singapore Zoo in daylight, and on this trip it finally happened! You will not believe what animal we saw!

After a couple of days of walking around the busy and urban streets of Singapore city, we needed a green break and some nature and fresh air, so we headed to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. It was so relaxing and peaceful to wander around the big garden, among huge trees, big lawns, small lakes and an ocean of beautiful orchids! Just what we needed! You will NOT believe the orchids we founds!
