Thailand´s capital Bangkok is obviously one of the world’s best place to eat tasty Thai food. There are so many restaurants and street vendors selling Thai food that it can sometimes be difficult to spot the really good ones. Some restaurants cater mostly to tourists, and the food might not be top quality, since tourists are usually easier to satisfy than the locals. What we want is places that serve authentic and delicious Thai food, Thai food that the Thais themselves love to eat. Here are our top 7 Thai food places in Bangkok!

Bangkok´s Temple In The Sky – Golden Mount (Wat Saket)

by Maria Wulff Hauglann| Last updated Nov 27, 2018

The beautiful Golden Mount (Wat Saket) is one of our favorite temples in Bangkok and a must-visit when in Bangkok. To reach the temple, you have to walk 344 steps up a hill. The 360-degree view of Bangkok from the top is fantastic, and it is the perfect place to watch the sunset. Golden Mount is not as famous as many of the other Bangkok temples, so it is less crowded with a peaceful atmosphere.

A Green Oasis – Lumphini Park, Bangkok

by Maria Wulff Hauglann| Last updated Sep 20, 2018

Lumphini park is a great place to head if you need some “nature” and peace and quiet. It has a nice atmosphere, and is the perfect place to go for a picnic or just relax and watch people work out. If you are in for a sweat on the other hand, this is also the place to come for a run, walk, weight lifting or aerobics. We have used the park every time we have been to Bangkok, both for relaxing and to work out. It is our favorite park among the ones we have been to around the world so far, after Central Park in New York.

10 Markets In Bangkok You Should Not Miss

by Maria Wulff Hauglann| Last updated Feb 23, 2020

I simply LOVE markets! I like the vibrant atmosphere and walking around in between the different booths looking at all the strange and useful and sometimes not so useful things they sell. And when I find the perfect thing that I really like, it might be that I can bargain it down in price and make a scoop! If I can walk away from there with a few bargains, then my market trip has been a complete success! 🙂

Bangkok has some of the best and biggest markets in the world, and they are part of the reason why we love the “City of Angels” so much.

Better Than Sex!

The beautiful, hip and cool white villa restaurant “Spring & Summer” has a kind of a ´funkis´ style to it. It is located in a beautiful lush garden surrounded by trees and flowers. You will not believe what we ate that was “Better Than Sex”!

We did a night tour of Bangkok by Tuk-Tuk – the best, most fun and most authentic way to experience the “city of angels”! Even though we have been to Bangkok many times, Expique showed us some places we have never been before, places we wouldn`t know of or find ourselves. We also saw Bangkok`s famous sites by night.

Stepping Back In Time In Chinatown – Bangkok

by Maria Wulff Hauglann| Last updated Feb 5, 2019

We went on an off-the-beaten-track walking tour with the Bangkok Vanguards to explore Bangkok’s ancient Chinatown. Chinatown is a truly fascinating area of Bangkok, with action at all hours and surprises at every turn! It is a maze of alleyways, centuries old temples and hectic markets, filled with hidden gems few that few visitors ever get to experience.
