An Evening at Spring Summer Restaurant (Bangkok)

Update: The Spring  & Summer Restaurant is sadly permanently closed.

The beautiful, hip, and cool white villa restaurant “Spring & Summer” has a kind of a ´funkis´ style to it. It is located in a beautiful lush garden surrounded by trees and flowers.

The restaurant is actually divided into two separate buildings, situated right next to each other. To the left (in the largest building) is the restaurant Spring where they serve dinner and lunch. The food is sort of fusion, both Thai, Asian and Western food. To the right of the garden is the Summer Chocolate House, which is more like a cafe where they serve cakes and desserts.

You can also sit out in the garden and order food and dessert from either one. Of course, you can sit in Spring and have dessert from Summer, and vice versa. So it`s really up to you where you prefer to sit. Sweet!

The Spring restaurant.

We went to the Spring restaurant first for dinner.

Inside, the Spring restaurant is elegantly decorated, with a nice mix of modern and classic Thai.

Beautiful decor inside Spring restaurant.

Espen had fried Massaman Curry (a version of the famous Thai dish Massaman Curry). It was delicious! The Massaman balls were tasty and crunchy on the outside. It came with carrot, nuts, a small salad of cucumber, chili, and onion, and a spicy sauce.

I ordered the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and a yellow butter-ish sauce with dill and caviar. It was great! It reminded me of the salmon at home, but I`m not sure if it was from Norway.

After dinner, we went out to the beautiful big garden in front of the Spring restaurant, where we relaxed on the Sacco bags.

Me relaxing in the lush garden.

The black and white Sacco bags and low tables, together with the lounge music create a relaxing and laid-back vibe.

It is the perfect setting for the perfect date I would say! 🙂

People chilling out on the Sacco sacks in the garden.

For dessert, I had the famous “Better than sex”  chocolate cake, while Espen had the “Cup C” chocolate cake. To call a chocolate cake “Better than sex” might be a slight exaggeration! 🙂 Chocolate is however one of few foods that people really feel passionate about, and Spring&Summer sure does make an impression on any date!

Besides these two cakes, their menu consists of everything from homemade ice cream in all different flavors, chocolate panna cotta, crepe, and silky Italian chocolate pudding with raspberry sauce, and a LOT more! Everything seems really tasty, so it`s very hard to choose!

So guess who has to come back again and try some more cakes?! Ah, damn! What diet?! 🙂

To the left: “Better than sex”, and to the right: “Cup C”.

“Better than sex” and “Cup C” were both super-delicious!! Yummy!!!!! 🙂

Spring & Summer is a fabulous restaurant/ cafe with delicious food of high quality. Not to mention their cakes, which are famous all over Bangkok, and for a good reason!

The price level is a bit higher than average food prices in Bangkok however. We paid 1340 Baht (41 us$) altogether, for dinner, dessert, and non-alcoholic drinks for two people. I think it is well worth the price, as it is a posh and nice restaurant with an excellent atmosphere and food! Once in a while, it is nice to splurge a little and have a nice evening out. 🙂 It is the perfect place for a birthday celebration, or to impress someone on a date!

Where To Stay In Bangkok

Bangkok offers a wide selection of accommodation for all budgets, and you will have plenty of choices when it comes to finding the right place to stay.

Bangkok is pretty affordable when it comes to accommodation, so you can get some really good deals and even find five stars hotels very cheap compared to other places in the world. However, accommodation prices do vary greatly with the season.

Below are some of our favorite hotels in Bangkok.  We have stayed at all of the hotels below.

Avani Riverside

The awesome rooftop infinity pool at Avani Riverside Hotel

If you’d like to stay along the river without breaking the bank, the Avani Riverside hotel is a great alternative to the usual riverside luxury hotels. Rooms are super comfortable with fantastic views overlooking the Chao Phraya River and the fantastic rooftop infinity pool is probably our favorite in Bangkok.

  1. Your title caught my attention (and got me a bit skeptical, haha). But after looking at those “Better than sex” and “Cup C” pics I tend to think you might be right in some way! 🙂
